An online devotional for writers
Solomon’s fame spread throughout all the surrounding nations. He composed some 3,000 proverbs. (1 Kings 4:31-32, NLT)
Can a freelance writer can make a good living by specializing in specific types of content writing projects?
Yep. John McIntyre is one of those writers. His nickname is The Autoresponder Guy.
John has carved out a niche in writing auto responders – an organized sequence of emails sent automatically in response to an inquiry or purchase. He writes auto responders for all kinds of clients.
Other freelance writers are making a good living by specializing in writing white papers. Crowdfunding campaigns. Technical content for engineers. Resumes. Landing pages.
And why not? God used different people to write different types of content writing in the Bible, too.
Moses recorded the law (the first five books of the Old Testament). David wrote 75 songs. What attorneys do you know also embrace writing praise song lyrics? Not many, I bet. So it makes sense that God gave those different assignments to different men.
Solomon wrote 3,000 proverbs. He became famous across the world and through the ages for writing that genre. Not only did he excel in writing in this project specialty, but today we benefit from the wisdom he imparted through those maxims.
Specializing doesn’t limit you. It allows you to become really good at writing a few kinds of content writing projects.
What specialty might God be calling you to embrace?
A project specialty is an opportunity for excellence.
Thank you for using writers to give us Your Word. I appreciate each of them and their specialties. Show me how to cultivate excellence in specific kinds of content writing projects You bring my way.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.
